How to use KaziLog

Step-by-step guides for the main features. Everything syncs securely across your devices.

🚗

Log a trip

KaziLog logs mileage from your odometer reading — accurate, with no battery-draining GPS.

  1. Open the Mileage tab.
  2. Enter a trip purpose (e.g. “Client visit”).
  3. Enter your starting odometer reading — type it, or tap the 📷 camera to scan it from your dashboard.
  4. Tap Start Trip.
  5. After your drive, enter (or 📷 scan) your ending odometer, then tap End Trip.
  6. KaziLog calculates the distance automatically (end − start). Tap ✏️ on any trip to edit it.
💡A trip in progress is saved even if you close the app — finish it whenever you arrive.
🧾

Scan a receipt

Capture receipts in seconds — AI reads the details for you.

  1. Tap the 📷 camera button in the middle of the bottom bar — it works from any screen.
  2. Choose Take Photo to scan, or pick an existing photo from your library.
  3. KaziLog’s AI reads the merchant, amount and date and suggests a category — review and correct anything if needed.
  4. Pick a category and add optional notes.
  5. Tap Save Receipt. The photo is stored so you can attach it to reports.
💡The free plan includes 5 AI scans per month; KaziLog Pro is unlimited. You can always enter a receipt manually.

Add & manage categories

Categories keep your receipts and expenses organized — Fuel, Insurance, Parking, Maintenance and more.

  1. Open the Receipts tab and tap 🏷️ Categories.
  2. Turn predefined categories on or off by tapping them — a checkmark means it’s active.
  3. To create your own, tap + Add custom category, type a name, and tap Add Category.
  4. Your categories then appear as options whenever you add a receipt or expense.
🔁

Add a recurring expense

For bills that repeat — insurance, subscriptions, lease payments — let KaziLog add them automatically.

  1. Start adding a receipt (tap the 📷 camera button at the bottom of any screen).
  2. Fill in the merchant, amount and category as usual.
  3. Turn on the Recurring expense toggle.
  4. Choose how often it repeats: Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly or Bi-monthly.
  5. Set the anniversary date — the day it recurs each cycle.
  6. Tap Save. KaziLog adds the expense on schedule, so you never forget one.
📄

Export a tax-ready report

Turn everything into one PDF for your accountant.

  1. On the Dashboard or Expenses tab, tap Export Report.
  2. Choose a period — month, quarter, year, or a custom range.
  3. Choose PDF report or CSV / QuickBooks, then tap Generate & Share. The report includes your mileage log, expense summary by category, and receipt images.
💡PDF export is a KaziLog Pro feature.
